Kura Reo Pakihi is open to all levels from early beginners to fluent speakers.
Kura Reo Pakihi is a unique, marae-based programme supporting corporate professionals to learn the Māori language and cultural customs for use in the workplace. The programme combines expert language tuition with a culturally rich leadership experience, in a safe and supportive learning environment.
Kura Reo Pakihi 2026 qualifies for 11 accounting CPD hours (confirmed by CAANZ). The programme is a mix of structured and unstructured/discussion lessons. Attendees will learn useful grammar structures, a mihi (introduction) template and a waiata ā-ringa (action song). There will also be an industry forum to discuss topical issues in Māori business.
Attendees stay overnight at the marae to support the immersive experience.
Past attendees have come from commercial banks, accounting, legal firms, Māori entities, consulting firms and government agencies, providing a great opportunity for networking in a non-competitive environment.
Registration includes all meals, as well as overnight accommodation at Tangatarua marae, Toi Ohomai campus.

Event Cancellation: Reo Whairawa Limited reserves the right to postpone or cancel Kura Reo Pakihi 2026 due to insufficient registration numbers, or unforeseen events or circumstances. In these instances, anyone who purchased tickets will have the option to transfer their registrations to a future Kura Reo Pakihi, or apply for a refund.
